COVID-19, the viral disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, is a global pandemic. Those with a chronic disease will face a greater threat. Here is what you should know about the virus and what you should do to keep you and your family healthy.
We are proactively monitoring recommendations and protocols established by the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as state and local health departments. We will continue to adjust our protocols and positions appropriately as needs and circumstances changes with COVID-19 developments
Operational Control Protocols :
As a precautionary measure, we have implemented increased hygiene and sanitizing routines, monitoring and operations protocols and are following clinic procedures outlined by healthcare organizations and leading authorities.
First, as a way of keeping “social distance” we will enforce a policy of one patient/family in our waiting room at a time. Our receptionists will be routing patients upon arrival to the clinic, immediately into one of our treatment or exam rooms. They will remain in the private room during the course of the treatment and not have to share any office space with other patients. We ask that patients come by themselves, without family members; or with only one parent in the case of a minor. The parent will be required to stay with the minor during the course of treatment. Our office is sanitized regularly throughout the day, and every table is wiped down with medical grade disinfectant after each patient. Our physicians and staff use appropriate protection and measures to avoid the spread of infectious diseases.
We strongly encourage everyone to listen and heed the advice of their doctors and government health officials. Make sure to wash your hands, bathe/shower frequently, practice social distancing, and using good hygienic measures at all times – now and later after this pandemic has passed. We also ask any who have a cough, cold, fever, or symptoms of a cold/flu to remain at home and contact us via phone to discuss next steps with our medical team.

Immune Boosting Protocol
The question my patients, friends, and family are asking is “What can we do”? The answer is a lot, both to reduce our own risks and reduce the spread nationwide. As with all virus infections, from the common cold to the flu to COVID-19, adequate nutrition is essential to support your body’s immune system and aid recovery.
Poor nutrition can compromise your immune function and increase your risk of getting infected. Nutrition is crucial for the delivery of energy sources, known as macronutrients, and for support of essential bodily processes provided in part by micronutrients. Both macro and micronutrients are key drivers for a healthy immune response, particularly for higher risk populations. The graphic below will serve as a handy reference.
